Joseph M. Busher, Jr. Attorney Busher is a partner with the firm and has been a member of the Connecticut bar for eleven years. He obtained a Bachelor of Arts degree, cum laude, from the College of the Holy Cross in 1993. He obtained his Doctorate of Jurisprudence with honors in 1996 from the University of Connecticut School of Law, where he also received the Cornelius W. Wickersham, Jr. Award for Constitutional Law and the American Jurisprudence Award for Constitutional Law. In addition to litigation experience, Attorney Busher has concentrations in insurance coverage and appellate practice. His concentration in insurance coverage analysis and litigation includes drafting opinion letters, the preparation of declaratory judgment and other complaints, as well as discovery and motion practice. His concentration in appellate practice includes the researching and drafting of over 36 briefs and appellate motions and argument before the Connecticut Appellate Court. Attorney Busher has received a B-V rating from Martindale-Hubbell (High to Very High legal ability rating and Very High general ethical standards rating). In 2006, Attorney Busher was selected as one of the top give percent of attorneys in Connecticut by Connecticut Magazine. In June of 2007, in recognition of his work in insurance coverage and appellate practice, he was selected for inclusion in the inaugural issue of New England Super Lawyers Magazine, featuring the top five percent of attorneys in New England. His bar admissions include the State of Connecticut (1996-present), the U.S. District Court (1996-present), the Second Circuit Court of Appeals (1998-present), and the Mashantucket Pequot Tribal Court (2005-present). He has served as a Guest Lecturer on the law at Nathan Hale-Ray High School in East Haddam and is a member of The Connecticut Consortium for Law and Citizenship Education, Inc. He is also a member of the Hartford County and Connecticut Bar Associations.
